White Light -- A Photoshop Edit

Here's what you can do with Photoshop. I'm in middle of a Skinny Mini ecourse by Kim Klassen. I thought I knew a lot about how to use photoshop, but I'm discovering new and exciting ways to edit. :)

Consider Thy Heavens

Today I discovered textures! Well, actually I knew about them before today, so I guess I should say, today I discovered Kim Klassen! I put one of her textures to use for this photograph. I'm really excited about learning more about using textures and editing in Photoshop.

My Photo on Canvas

I've always loved the look of photos on canvas, and a few weeks ago, I jumped at the chance to win a canvas print from  Easy Canvas Prints. I really didn't expect to win since I hadn't entered my picture until late in the contest, but with a lot of help from friends and fans on Facebook, I won a free 8x10. :) This week, my canvas came in the mail. I love how it turned out! Now I just need a wall to hang it on. :)

The Thankful Tree

I ran across the idea for this "Thankful Tree" a few months ago on this blog. Today I decided to create my own. I cut a few branches off of a bush we have out front, stripped the leaves and put the branches in a canning jar. Then I dug out my scrap paper and punched the circles using a 2" circle punch that I borrowed from my neighbor. :) Now we just need to write little notes of thanks on all of the "leaves".

"Be Still and Know"

Another new design. I just love the colors of fall in Missouri. I took this one a few weeks ago, as the yellows were starting to emerge. Now everything is starting to turn red, orange and gold. :D

Into the Mist

I took this photo on my way to work this morning. What is it about railroad tracks that are so neat to photograph? I haven't figured it out, but I do like to take pictures of them. :) Today Saginaw Valley was filled with a layer of fog and I liked how the tracks seemed to disappear into the mist. What would have been really special is if a train had come along just then. I would have hopped right off those tracks, but hopefully caught a shot of it, before it got too close. :)
